White Petals and Golden Light — Corinne and Pat at Dark Horse Vineyard

Getting ready in the same house but keeping that moment of seeing each other for the first time until it really counts — there's something so quietly romantic about that. Corinne spent the morning in the most beautiful light-filled room, floor to ceiling windows, timber floors, and that extraordinary gown pooling around her as the last buttons were fastened. You could feel the anticipation in the air.

The first look set the tone for everything that followed. Two people who were just so ready for each other.

The ceremony at Dark Horse Vineyard was stunning in its restraint. White chairs, a gravel aisle, clusters of white blooms at the foot of those striking barn doors, and a deep blue winter sky overhead. Corinne walked out in her off-the-shoulder ballgown and the whole thing just made sense. Patrick in his black tuxedo hadn't stopped smiling since he first saw her, and he wasn't about to start now. When they walked back down the aisle as husband and wife, their guests showered them in white rose petals and the whole place erupted.

As the sun started to drop, the cocktail hour took on that warm golden glow that only winter afternoons can deliver. Guests spilled out across the vineyard, drinks in hand, and there was a warmth to the whole group that you notice immediately. The kind of crowd that genuinely loves the couple at the centre of it all.

The portraits along the white post and rail fences with the last of the light catching everything were some of my favourites from the entire day. Corinne laughing, Patrick carrying her bouquet, bare winter trees lining the path behind them. A number of these were shot on film, and if you've ever wondered whether analog photography is worth adding to your day, Corinne put it perfectly: "I would highly suggest adding on the film analog photography. They are my absolute favourite."

Corinne and Patrick, your day was everything. And as for having me as your first vendor booked, that might be the best compliment I've ever received. Thank you for trusting me with it.
